Happy New Month!

To maximize fun during beautiful month of July here are some summer sun safety tips:

  • As you spend more time in the sun, if you have babies under a year, keep them out of direct sunlight to prevent skin damage or dehydration. Never let them play or sleep in the sun. Keep babies in the shade such as under a tree, umbrella or canopy.
  • Do not put sunscreen on a baby under six months old. Give them plenty of milk and water.
  • For kids one to four years of age, dress them in lightly colored clothing and wide brimmed hats. They can wear sunglasses, but make sure that they provide protection against the sun.
  • Limit your time in the sun between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • When choosing a sunscreen, get one with a SPF 15 or higher and look for one that is water resistant. Apply it about 20 minutes before you go out and at least two hours after that.

Enjoy your days out!
