Local business helps chamber take action

A North Battleford business owner has stepped up to show his support for the Battlefords and Area Chamber of Commerce’s new initiative aimed at boosting local business and making the community a safer place to live.

Driver charged following two vehicle collision near Biggar

One person has been charged following a two vehicle collision outside of Biggar Friday morning.

The incident happened approximately 10 kilometres south of Biggar on Highway 4 when a northbound SUV driven by an adult male and a southbound pickup truck driven by an adult female collided.

Cool, wet weather has assisted with many communities in the area rescinding the fire bans that have been in place for the past few weeks in hopes of avoiding scenes like this.

Recent wet weather helps officials lift fire bans

While some may see the wet weather as an inconvenience, fire officials and local municipalities consider it a blessing as several areas lifted fire bans imposed in early May.

Today (Friday) the R.M. and City of North Battleford joined the R.M. of Medstead in rescinding its fire ban.

A Taste of Culture celebrates diversity this weekend at WDM

For the past 11 years, the Battlefords Immigration Resource Centre has brought people from different backgrounds together with its Taste of Culture celebration. 

R&B singer Denise Valle will be one of the performers taking part in the the Second Annual Garden Party for the Battlefords Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Society. This year's event will be held on Saturday, June 16 at Destination Battlefords.

Garden party for mental health set for June 16

After the huge response to last year’s Garden Party hosted by the Battlefords Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), organizers are looking to exceed the more than 120 who attended.

Infrastructure upgrades means power outages for several N.B. areas

SaskPower customers in several North Battleford areas will be waking up on Sunday morning without power.

According to SaskPower spokesperson Jordan Jackle, the work is necessary to upgrade equipment.
