Battlefords U12 girls softball team wins gold in Saskatoon

The Battlefords Bandits U12 girl’s softball team went to Saskatoon over the weekend of June 3 to 5 and came home with gold medals around their necks after winning the Hustler Classic tournament.

RCMP recognizes four North Stars players for drug prevention work

Last October, four Battlefords North Stars players went to Vancouver's Downtown Eastside for a weekend to see the effects of drug and alcohol abuse first-hand, an experience which they then spoke to local children about. This week, local RCMP officers recognized the players' contributions.

Battlefords Ag Society ready for chuckwagon race

With summer in full swing, the summer sports scene is beginning to take shape in the Battlefords.

The first race of the 2016 Canadian Professional Chuckwagon Association (CPCA) season takes place in North Battleford starting tomorrow, June 3 and running through Sunday, June 5.

Unity native looks back on RBC Cup opportunity

Hockey players are trained to be at their best, not nervous, when eyes are on them. For Unity native Alex Pernitsky, the nerves were admittedly tough to shake during the RBC Cup final, the national Junior A championship, which was broadcast on live television across the country.
