Defence powers the Roughriders past Ti-Cats 18-13

It was late in the second quarter, the score was 4-0 for Hamilton and the Roughriders needed a spark.

The offence had been struggling, rotating between Brandon Bridge and David Watford seemingly at random, and something needed to be done.

Enter Charleston Hughes.

Collaros out with concussion symptoms, Bridge in as starter

Zach Collaros took a pounding in Thursday night’s game against the Ottawa Redblacks and now he’ll miss significant time because of it.

Canadian quarterback Brandon Bridge will start in Collaros’ place for the foreseeable future.

‘I don’t want to settle:’ Gainey wants the Grey Cup

Ed Gainey has set the bar to the highest rung — it’s Grey Cup or bust.

“We gotta get that ring,” Gainey said in an interview at Roughrider training camp. “I feel like if we don’t get the ring this year we’re falling short of our expectations.”

Roughriders bring in former NFL running back Tre Mason

The race to be the Roughriders running back is heating up.

The club announced Wednesday that running back Tre Mason had inked a deal joining Jerome Messam, Zac Stacy, Marcus Thigpen and Bryce Vieira in the offensive backfield.
