Meota Lakeshore Lions planning annual fundraiser Saturday

Jul 19, 2018 | 5:00 PM

The Meota Lakeshore Lions Club is planning a fundraiser dinner and silent auction on Saturday to help support upcoming community projects the Lions will be working on.

President Lawrie Ward said he hopes for a good turnout for the sixth annual event that includes a pasta supper and live entertainment, including the Meota Beach Boys.

He said the Lions Club has been a dedicated group in the community and has supported many projects since it began in 1984.

“We’ve raised over $200,000 since our club started in Meota,” Ward said.

The president added while the Lions members are still determining the next project they will be working on, they have identified the community hall as a potential new cause as the well-used hall is in need of air conditioning.

The pasta night fundraiser will take place July 21 at the Meota Community Hall starting at 5 p.m. The supper will be held at 6 p.m. with entertainment to follow at 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door.
