Maidstone RCMP continue to investigate following weekend fatal crash

Maidstone RCMP continue to investigate following a July 15 fatal vehicle collision on Highway 17.

Police reported a pick-up truck and a mini-van collided head-on in the shoulder of the northbound lane of Highway 17, about five kilometres north of Lloydminster Sunday afternoon. 

RCMP said in a release the 34-year-old female driver of the mini-van was declared deceased at the scene. An 11-year-old female passenger in the van was transported to hospital for observation and then released. The 81-year-old driver of the truck was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. All those involved were from the Lloydminster area.

Police continue to investigate with assistance from Traffic Reconstruction and the Provincial Coroner’s Office. Maidstone RCMP were assisted at the site of the collision by the area fire department and EMS first responders.
