Voting period for BOB awards winding down

Voting for the second annual Best of the Battlefords Awards is into the home stretch as local groups, personalities, and businesses eagerly wait to see who will be selected as the best in each category.

Anyone can vote for their favourites in the Local Goodness, Sports & Recreation, Arts & Entertainment, Health, Beauty & Style, Food & Drink, and Shopping & Services categories.

“It will be interesting to see who comes out on top in a few categories,” Kelly Bitner, of battlefordsNOW, said. “We had over 200 categories and lots of great nominees, so it promises to be fun.”

Whether it’s your favourite automotive dealer, radio station, teacher, or tourist attraction, Bitner said going through the categories and seeing who has been nominated is just as much fun as voting.

“There are a lot of bragging rights up for grabs here,” Bitner added. “In only its second year; people really want to win a BOB award, because that means they were recognized by their peers.”

Voting will continue until 11:59 p.m. Sunday July 8. The categories and the list of nominees can be found online.
