City asking residents to use caution during light repair at intersection

Jul 4, 2018 | 2:00 PM

The City of North Battleford is asking motorists and pedestrians to be careful when using the Territorial Drive and Killdeer Drive intersection Wednesday since the pedestrian crossing light is not working properly.

Director of Infrastructure Dan Loewen said pedestrians should exercise caution at the intersection until the light is repaired.

“When they were updating the lights the component couldn’t couldn’t be updated; it needed to be replaced,” he said. “So they brought a new component in from Edmonton and they should be able to repair it by tonight (Wednesday).”

Loewen says crews had been doing regular maintenance work on the lights throughout the city Tuesday night but encountered a problem when working on the lights at this intersection crossing.

“I was told they should be working by tomorrow morning (Thursday),” he added.
