River flow and ice warning issued for North Saskatchewan River

Apr 26, 2018 | 11:11 AM

The City of North Battleford has issued a river flow and ice warning for the North Saskatchewan River.

The warning was issued Thursday morning as a result of current flows and ice break up on the river, which could cause flooding in low lying areas.

In a release from the city, North Battleford fire chief, Trevor Brice, said the department is monitoring the situation.

“The river is very dangerous with the flow and ice conditions at present and we are encouraging everyone to stay away from the river until the ice break up has been completed,” Brice said.
