Battlefords RCMP execute warrants in multiple locations

Battlefords RCMP executed multiple warrants last night in several locations around the region that has resulted in the arrest of five people.

On Tuesday, Dec. 5,  there was an increased police presence at a residence on the 200 block of 33rd Street in Battleford, at a hotel room in North Battleford and in the parking lot of a business on Railway Avenue east in North Battleford.

Multiple RCMP members and support units were on scene, including the RCMP Emergency Response Team on Railway Avenue. While no firearms were discharged in relation to the investigation, other tools that produce similar sounds when discharged were used.

Seized items included two firearms, a quantity of substances suspected to be cocaine and crystal methamphetamine, as well as other drug paraphernalia.
