North Stars forward MacGregor Sinclair has been named the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League player of the week after recording four goals and three assists in three games.

The Irma, Alta. native had two assists on Tuesday against Kindersley and also scored in the shootout, as the North Stars won 4-3. He then had a natural hat-trick in the club’s 3-2 regulation win over Notre Dame on Friday. On Saturday, Sinclair tied the game late in the third against Humboldt and also had an assist on Layne Young’s second-period power play marker. The Stars won again on Saturday, 3-2 in a shootout over the Broncos.

Sinclair now has 16 goals and 17 assists in 22 games this season. His 33 points have him fifth in league scoring. Last year, Sinclair had 22 points in 50 games.

On Monday afternoon, he also announced on Twitter that he has committed to the Canisius College Golden Griffins hockey program.
