North Stars drop to 8th in latest CJHL top-20

Nov 14, 2017 | 9:00 AM

Due to a 1-0 loss to Weyburn this weekend, their only game of the entire week, the Battlefords North Stars fell from third to eighth in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League top-20 rankings.

They are still the only SJHL team to crack the list, although the Melfort Mustangs (14-4-3-1) received an honourable mention.

Last week, the North Stars (12-2-1) fell from second to third, and were only behind the Thief River Falls Norskies of the Superior International Junior Hockey League and the Carleton Place Canadians of the Central Canada Hockey League.

This week, at eighth overall, Battlefords is now the fourth best team out west, behind the AJHL’s Okotoks Oilers (4th, 17-2-1), the MJHL’s Steinbach Pistons (5th, 16-3), and AJHL’s Fort McMurray Oil Barons (7th, 18-3-1).
