La Loche man wrongly released offends while free

A man mistakenly released from custody is facing additional charges during the short time he was free.
Justin Lemaigre, 35, was released from custody on Oct. 2 following a court appearance in La Loche. He had been on remand in connection to a number of charges including assault and failure to comply.
Lemaigre was located by RCMP officers roughly 24 hours later in La Loche and taken back into custody without incident. However, he is now facing additional charges relating to the time he was not in custody, including assault, theft under $5,000, and three counts of failure to comply.
Lemaigre is scheduled to appear again in court Oct. 5 in La Loche. The RCMP is conducting an internal review of this incident.
