Heat warning issued for Battleford, Meadow Lake area until Friday

Stay out of the sun and drink plenty of fluids, as a heat warning has been issued by Environment Canada for our region.

The warning includes the Battlefords, Meadow Lake, Unity and even further north to Buffalo Narrows and La Loche.

A heat warning is issued when the daytime temperature reaches 29 C or more during the day and 14 C or more at night for two consecutive days.

Environment Canada expects the heat warning to last until Friday.

They are also warning to watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
