RCMP investigating pepper spray incident in N.B.

Battleford RCMP are continuing their investigation into an incident early Friday morning in which two women were sprayed with pepper spray by two unknown male assailants.

The incident occurred in the 1300 block of 104th St. at roughly 12:30 a.m. Friday morning. Following the assault the men fled in a red car. The women were treated on site by ambulance personnel then taken to their homes.

The two unidentified male suspects have not been located and the investigation is on-going.

Meanwhile, five people between the ages of 16 and 21 were arrested on Thursday night after a stolen vehicle was located in the rural area west of Battleford on Highway 40. Two of the five arrested were charged with offences under the traffic safety act and criminal code.
