White powder delivered to Saskatoon school ‘non-hazardous’: police

Mar 23, 2017 | 2:53 PM

Emergency crews responded Thursday after mysterious white powder was delivered to a Saskatoon elementary school.

Parents told 650 CKOM that they got messages informing them of the situation. The message noted children were unharmed and were going to be evacuated to a safe location, with pickup instructions to follow.

As of 2 p.m. Thursday, hazmat crews were still on site and traffic restrictions were in place on Lorne Avenue between 4th and 5th Street.

This is the third incident involving deliveries of white powder to Saskatoon businesses and institutions since November 2016.
