None injured in Wilkie house fire

Wilkie police and the local fire department responded to a house fire in the community on Wednesday.

Members of both emergency services along with Heartland Emergency Medical Services responded to the fire in the 500 block of 4th St. W. at approximately 3:30 p.m.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene they found the house was evacuated and residents of the house uninjured.

The Wilkie Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire quickly however the home sustained significant smoke and fire damage.

The cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious.
