N.B. asking for public input on neighbourhood park

Sep 16, 2016 | 1:54 PM

Changes are coming to a North Battleford park and the city wants public input on its future.

City planner Devin MacAulay said there is a 40-acre parcel of municipal land in the Fairview Heights neighbourhood that needs to function as a water retention pond and public park. The city is inviting the public to a community meeting next week to discuss the park’s future.

“It’s always very important to get the public’s opinion on what they want and how they would best utilize the park,” he said. “This is just an exercise in kind of envisioning what they think it could be or what they would like it to be.”

The community meeting is at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22 at the Clements Drive Neighbourhood Park Facility.
