Discovery Co-op expecting thousands for 16th annual Kids Club Carnival

The Discovery Co-op has hosted the Kids Club Carnival for more than a decade, and this weekend marks the 16th annual event.

“It’s a fun way to end off summer, welcome in fall and back to school,” Discovery Co-op executive assistant Jillian Friesen said. “We always see thousands of people coming through and it’s just an awesome time.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Battlefords, an organization that provides mentoring programs for young people, will run a dunk tank to raise money. There will also be carnival games, a petting zoo, a Ferris wheel and a tractor pull. A barbecue station will serve hamburgers and hotdogs and other snacks.

The carnival is one of several Co-op Kids Club events each year. Friesen said the carnival helps Co-op encourage parents to sign-up for the club and bring attention to other events throughout the year.
