Liquor store request for proposals issued for 20 communities

Jul 26, 2016 | 6:36 AM

The province is requesting proposals for privatized liquor stores in several northwest communities.

A request for proposals (RFP) was issued for 20 communities in Saskatchewan, including Battleford, Wilkie, Unity and St. Walburg on Monday, July 25.

These requests are part of a province-wide effort to expand private liquor retail in Saskatchewan. It is the third wave of RFP releases.

All 20 communities listed in this RFP have populations of less than 5,000. New liquor stores could operate inside existing businesses, like grocery stores or convenience stores, or as standalone businesses.
