Excitement surrounds North Stars season ticket sales

Jul 11, 2016 | 4:59 PM

A successful last season on the ice for the Battlefords North Stars has turned into high early bird numbers for season tickets this year.

North Stars Marketing and Office Manager Trent Cey said the team has sold approximately 215 season tickets so far and are on pace to sell more in this upcoming 2016-17 season.

Cey said how well the team did last year combined with community appearances boosted ticket numbers.

“We strive very hard to be active in our community and I think that helps, too. When people see us trying to be part of the Battlefords and giving back as much as we can, they support us that way, too,” Cey said.” But nothing sells tickets better than winning and long playoff runs.”

Cey expects the number of season tickets to continue to climb as there are corporate season tickets still available and he said people often don’t buy their tickets until right before the season begins.

“The fact that there’s a good chunk of new people already and the fact that 940 (people) was our average attendance last year, there’s going to be a lot of people interested in getting tickets in the next month or two,” he said.

Last year, the team sold around 300 season tickets.
