Family day usually has really bad luck when it comes to weather, but this year organizers couldn’t have asked for a nicer day.

“This is only the second year we’ve had the sun shining, so it’s really exciting,” Cheryl Stewart-Rahm, Programs and Volunteer Coordinator of the Western Development Museum. “Normally it’s raining cats and dogs and it forces us inside but not today. It’s beautiful and it should bring out lots of families.”

Saturday, June 18, marked the eighth annual Family Day held at the museum. Stewart-Rahm said she thought this year would be the biggest. Last year, she held it inside and got roughly 300 people. She expected the gorgeous weather to double it this year.

There were tons of activities for families to partake in. A water park was set up in the village, bouncy castles and games galore but, the balloon artist and the dog show were the highlights.
