Election 2016: Last week of election campaign puts focus on Regina, Saskatoon

The two main party leaders describe themselves as “fired-up” as the election campaign enters the final week.

While Brad Wall and Cam Broten will be travelling across the province, most events will be focused on Regina and Saskatoon, where a number of key urban constituencies are at stake.

In the final stages of his first campaign as NDP leader, Broten isn’t acting like the underdog.

“I’m excited and I’m going to go full out between now and election day,” Broten explained. “As I’ve been travelling, the response has been good and I’m looking forward to the campaign in the final days.”

Wall is keeping his focus on the record of government.

“It is a good record. It isn’t perfect, we never claimed that, but we will present it as a good and positive record for the province and then talk about some of the ideas we have talked about in this campaign.”

And in a week’s time, he maintains voters have a choice.

“That choice, and the consideration of that choice, will give our party and our campaign momentum.”

Attention will also turn to the advance polls that begin March 29 to April 2.
