Meadow Lake RCMP vamping up communications strategy

Meadow Lake RCMP have revisited their local communications strategy and will be implementing a more open and informative policy.

“The reason for the change is to promote open and accountable relationships and to ensure the public is aware of the work their police force is doing,” Cpl. How said.

The public can expect weekly bulletins on the general happenings within the detachment. In addition, there will be specific updates on issues in the communities and up-to-date “Most Wanted” lists.

How said there will be a weekend round up which can be read every Monday afternoon. The round up will include weekend incidents, requests for public assistance and other RCMP information.

“We’d like the citizens to be aware that there isn’t a sudden spike in criminal activity, just simply an increase in our communication efforts,” Cpl. R.C How said.
