The celebration is on for Regina’s Mark McMorris.

The 22-year-old captured gold at the X Games 2016 Aspen Men’s Snowboard Slopestyle event Saturday afternoon, Jan. 30.

It was not all smiles for McMorris at the start of the competition. He scored a 13.33 in his first run but bounced back with a 92.66 in his second run. His third run — which scored a 24.00 — did not mean much, as he had already captured the gold.

McMorris squeeked by Montreal native Sebastien Toutant, who scored an impressive 90.00 in his first try and finished in second place.
