Senior hockey provincial brackets set

The 2018 senior men’s hockey provincial draws are now out, with seven Sask West Hockey League (SWHL) teams, two Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League (SPHL) teams, and one Beaver Lakes Hockey League (BLHL) team giving it a go.

The Sharks are now 7-18 this season, after back-to-back wins over Weyburn at Battleford Arena.

Sharks snag two home wins against Weyburn

The contest was never in question on Saturday, but on Sunday things were different.

Thankfully, however, the Battlefords AAA Sharks pulled out a close 3-2 win over Weyburn on Sunday, just one day after thumping the same team 7-2.

Crusaders senior girls win silver, junior boys win bronze

Two John Paul II Crusaders basketball teams enjoyed successful weekends, with the senior girls team bringing home a silver medal and the junior boys bringing home a bronze this past weekend.

North Stars defeat Mils 4-1 on Hockey Day

On a milestone night for its captain, the Battlefords North Stars topped the Melville Millionaires 4-1 on Hockey Day in Saskatchewan in Balcarres for their 30th victory of the season.

But if not for goaltender Joel Grzybowski, the team's 8-2 win could have been much different.
