Shots fired at empty building in Maidstone

Maidstone RCMP are investigating an incident where shots were fired from a vehicle at an unoccupied business on Highway 17 approximately 5 kilometres south of Lloydminster.

The shooting occurred on Thursday night just before midnight.

Extreme weather causes bus and school closures

The extreme cold weather is playing havoc with some buses in the area. As a result the following buses and school have reported interuptions in service.
 
- All North Battleford and Battleford, Cut Knife, Leoville, Spiritwood and Medstead bus routes are cancelled. 
 

A 32-year-old man from the Battlefords area has been arrested and charged in connection with a complaint received from a youth regarding unwanted electronic messages from an adult male.

A 32-year-old man from the Battlefords area has been arrested and charged in connection with a complaint received from a youth regarding unwanted electronic messages from an adult male. 
 

Maclean's published an article labeling North Battleford the most dangerous city in the country. Though it looks bad the surface, mayor Ryan Bater said it highlighted the initiatives the city is doing to reduce crime and hopes it will push higher levels of government to help as well.
