For the first time since 1997, Gerry Ritz watched Monday’s byelection results roll in as a constituent rather than a candidate and he says he could not have been more pleased with the outcome; a win by Conservative candidate Rosemarie Falk.

The Battlefords-Lloydminster byelection final results Monday night showed a commanding win for Conservative candidate Rosemarie Falk, but a very low voter turnout.

Tough race for unsuccessful contenders in federal byelection

Tonight's early results in the federal byelection for the Battlefords-Lloydminster riding appear to have paved the way for a landslide victory for Conservative candidate Rosemarie Falk, to replace long-serving Conservative MP Gerry Ritz who announced his retirement during the summer.

While the final numbers are not in yet, based on the latest numbers trending, battlefordsNOW is predicting Conservative candidate Rosemarie Falk will be the winner in the Battlefords-Lloydminster byelection tonight.

PM Trudeau visits North Battleford for meet and greet rally

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited North Battleford Thursday for a brief meet and greet, and to show his support for Larry Ingram - the local Liberal candidate in the upcoming Battlefords-Lloydminster byelection. 

About 900 people packed the Dekker Centre to attend the event.

PM Trudeau to visit North Battleford Thursday

Area residents will have an opportunity to meet Prime Minister Justin Trudeau this Thursday at a meet and greet at the Dekker Centre. Trudeau is coming to the area to show his support for the Liberal candidate in the upcoming federal bylection.

North Battleford Mayor, Ryan Bater, appreciates the seven RCMP officers supplied by Saskatchewan, but feels more positions should be provided by the province to combat the crime issues.
