2018 Riders season begins tonight on CJNB/CJNS

It’s a day Riders Nation has had circled on their calendar since Nov. 19, when the Toronto Argonauts defeated the Roughriders 25-21 on their way to capturing the 105th Grey Cup.

National Indigenous Peoples Day takes place June 21 and Urban Treaty Day will be held June 20. Both days include a number of celebrations in North Battleford.

Indigenous Peoples Day to include raising of permanent flag at city hall

The Battlefords will be celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day Thursday with a number of events, including raising the Treaty 6 flag outside City Hall where it will remain permanently on display.

Local student wins bronze medal at national skills competition

For Cam Taylor the opportunity to represent his home province at a prestigious event like the 2018 Skills Canada National Competition was pretty special, and it became even more so when he stood on the podium and receive a bronze medal for his work in carpentry.

Light of Christ honours Catholic community leaders

Light of Christ Catholic School Division recently honoured two individuals in the Catholic community with awards for their contributions to Catholic education.

The school division handed out the Lumen Christi Awards last month, an annual tradition observed since 2005. 

The third annual Brian Maunula Memorial Golf Tournament is set for Sept. 23 at Rustic Nine Golf Course and organizers are expecting another sellout. Pictured are the late Brian Maunula and his grandson Shae, who spearheaded the event to raise funds for the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital in his grandfather's honour.

Organizers hope to continue success with third memorial golf tournament

The golfers taking part in the third Brian Maunula Memorial Junior Golf Tournament will notice some big changes this year.
