Combines blast Beaver Blues, extend SPHL lead

It was supposed to be a clash of two of the top three teams in the Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League (SPHL) last night, however, only one team showed up.

The first place Meota Combines routed the third place Battleford Beaver Blues 8-1 at the Battleford Arena.

Memorial Round Dance event returns to Battlefords

Battlefords area residents will have an opportunity to join in a traditional round dance coming to North Battleford next month. 

This marks the Third Memorial Round Dance in honour of Allen Sapp and Walking with Our Sisters.

Battlefords North Stars will look to continue their dominance over the Yorkton Terriers tonight at the Affinity Place Arena. Stars have won all three games against  Yorkton this season.

North Stars begin busy weekend tonight in Yorkton

The final push towards the playoffs begins for the Battlefords North Stars tonight, as they open a weekend road trip with a stop in Yorkton to face a Terrier team that they have dominated for the past three seasons.

On paper, it’s a David versus Goliath scenario.

Organizers say inaugural SJHL/MJHL showcase went well

The event wasn't even over when Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League commissioner Bill Chow confirmed the first ever SJHL and Manitoba Junior Hockey League combined showcase will return next season.
