B.C. solitary confinement ruling has implications in Sask

A recent decision by British Columbia’s highest court ruled indefinite solitary confinement unconstitutional could have a major effect on corrections in Saskatchewan, according to a leading advocate for inmates’ rights.

No injuries after 2 cars collide

The corner of 100 Street at 16 Avenue in North Battleford was busy around 4 p.m., Tuesday when two vehicles collided near the intersection.

A black Hyundai Tucson SUV and a beige Dodge Avenger were damaged during the incident. 

Graham Baptiste, 34, is facing charges that include drug trafficking. He was released on bail at North Battleford provincial court, Tuesday.

Man facing trafficking charges granted bail

One of the four suspects Battlefords RCMP charged in Dec. 2017, following a police investigation related to drug trafficking of crystal meth and cocaine, has been released on bail.

Maidstone RCMP are investigating an incident where shots were fired from a vehicle at an unoccupied business on Highway 17 approximately 5 kilometres south of Lloydminster.

The shooting occurred on Thursday night just before midnight.
