Two men who shot a North Battleford man in the leg in January will spend more time in custody after they were sentenced in North Battleford provincial court Wednesday.

The Battlefords Citizens on Patrol Program recently received a $4,000 installment cheque through the new Action Battlefords initative from the local Chamber of Commerce.

More funding needed for 'inadequate' coroner’s system

Dozens of recommendations are being made to improve Saskatchewan’s coroner’s system with everything from new positions and new committees to speeding up toxicology results and having a plan around mass casualties.

Legalization good news for local business owner

The legalization of marijuana in Canada now has a date, and that’s good news for a North Battleford business.

Dale Whiteside, owner of Rockshop SmokeShop, said even though his business doesn’t sell marijuana, he’s excited for the boost that it will bring to the entire industry.

Super A owners say Battlefords businesses becoming harder to run

It’s getting tougher and tougher to operate a small business in a small town.

The town of Battleford has seen its fair share of disappearing businesses throughout the town. Super A Foods became the latest business to close its doors Thursday.

Two in custody after firearm incident on Saulteaux First Nation

Two men are facing criminal charges after an incident involving a firearm Saturday night on the Saulteaux First Nation.

Battlefords RCMP said officers were called to the First Nation shortly after 6 p.m. after receiving a complaint of two males pointing a firearm at a victim.
