Cinema construction begins

The new Magic Lantern four-screen cinema planned for downtown North Battleford is almost here.

"The first shovel went into the ground today," Mayor Ryan Bater said following council Monday.

Crime, budget constraints, and aging infrastructure were at the forefront for the City of North Battleford and the Town of Battleford over the past year.

Town of Battleford contributes to new Sask. Hospital

The Town of Battleford will support the new Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford project by helping cover some of the costs for furnishings.

The City of North Battleford and the Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs were recognized with a 2018 Economic Partnership Award.

Volunteers, city staff take part in spring clean up

City staff and volunteers will be rolling up their sleeves Thursday collecting garbage and debris that has accumulated over the winter months in North Battleford as part of the annual Spring Cleanup.
