Warmer weather has local golf courses optimistic

Golfers at the North Battleford Golf and Country Club would normally be hitting the links already by this time in April, but due to below-average temperatures so far this month, the local course isn’t open yet and there is no timeframe for when it will be.

Orcas swimmer Higgs qualifies for Canadian Junior Championships

Battlefords Kinsmen Orcas swimmer Madison Higgs has qualified for the Canadian Junior Championships in the 1,500-metre freestyle, after crushing her previous best time and breaking an Orcas club record at the Western Canadian Championships in Victoria, B.C. last weekend.

Rachelle Matisz will be headed to the University of Saskatchewan next season to complete a two-year post-degree nursing program.

If there's one thing Rachelle Matisz won't miss about the Battlefords North Stars athletic therapist job, it's doing laundry.
