TheatreFest 2017 is All Canadian

The 83rd Theatre Saskatchewan Inc. competitive provincial community theatre festival kicks off Monday, April 24 and continues through to Saturday, April 29th with 6 shows, 3 comedies and 3 dramas.

All shows are being held at the Dekker Centre with the host Battlefords Community Players opening the festival with their production “Of The Fields, Lately” Monday evening, curtain 7:30pm.

The week continues with Cochin Community Players, “Hilda’s Yard” on Tuesday, Tale Spinner Theatre, “Mary’s Wedding” on Wednesday, Melfort Amateur Dramatics, “The Love List” on Thursday, Regina Little Theatre “Vimy” on Friday.

The festival concludes on Saturday with Swift Current Little Theatre “Skin Fleck” and the presentation of awards. Last year at TheatreFest 2016 – our own BCP brought home Best Production, Best Visual, Best Actor and Best Director, be there to see who wins this year.

Participants and patrons have the opportunity to attend adjudication workshop by Will Brooks daily from 9:30am – 11:30am. Groups come to share their work and learn from the experience and 20 apprentices from clubs across the province spend the week learning and sharing. The apprentice program is funded by Theatre Saskatchewan through funding from Sask. Culture.
