Discuss Diabetes on World Health Day

Join the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA) on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, for a live Twitter discussion on the topic of self-management and diabetes.

People with diabetes play an important role in ensuring they live well by managing their diabetes working closely with their health-care team—from managing their blood sugar levels, foot care, eye care and physical activity to their nutrition. World Health Day 2016 on April 7 will focus on diabetes.

Join us the day before to chat live with the CDA’s chief science officer, Dr. Jan Hux, in a live Twitter discussion on self-management of diabetes.

About Dr. Jan Hux 

Dr. Hux is the chief science officer at the CDA where she provides scientific and strategic input to the research, educational and communications activities of the CDA. Prior to joining the CDA in 2012, she was a senior scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) where for more than 15 years, she carried out health services research in the areas of diabetes, end stage renal disease and drug utilization. She is also a clinician with training in general internal medicine. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto in the Departments of Medicine and Health Policy, Management and Evaluation and an adjunct scientist at ICES.
