Town sees collisions up, property offences down in police report

Battlefords RCMP reported an overall slight increase in calls for service when it gave its report at the Town of Battleford's council meeting recently, although the town did see decreases in a number of categories.

As official legalization of cannabis in Canada draws closer, North Battleford is deciding where exactly the substance can be consumed and according to the city manager, the rules will likely mirror alcohol consumption.

Battlefords RCMP meet with stakeholders to set out community safety priorities

Battlefords RCMP met with local officials and stakeholders Wednesday to learn more about the law-enforcement needs in the region as part of the RCMP's annual performance planning work.

Those who have enjoyed the Battlefords Wildlife Federation (BWF) annual Smoker for the past 72 years will notice some dramatic changes to this year’s event.

Town of Battleford approves cannabis zoning bylaw

The Town of Battleford approved a zoning amendment bylaw for any future potential cannabis retail outlets and grow operations at its meeting Monday.

No one objected at a public hearing before council carried second and third reading of the bylaw.
