Girls soccer tournament comes to Crusader Field one team short

Both the John Paul II Crusaders and Comp Vikings girls soccer teams got their feet wet in an exhibition tournament over the weekend at Crusader Field, but less soccer was played than originally anticipated because Prince Albert Carleton didn’t show up.

AAA Stars can’t stay out of box in loss to Legionnaires

The AAA Stars couldn’t stay out of the box in their 3-1 loss to the Swift Current Legionnaires on Sunday afternoon.

They were shorthanded nine times over the course of the game and took a total of 10 minor penalties.

Vikings drop first game of season to Falcons

All along, Vikings head coach Mike Humenny knew the last half of the season was going to be significantly more difficult than the first half.

When his team began 2016 with three straight wins, he reiterated that point.

Cross-country district championships coming to the Battlefords

John Paul Collegiate II is hosting the Battle West District Cross Country Championships at Finlayson Island on Friday, October 6.

Roughly 200 athletes are expected to participate, ranging from the novice age group (11 and under) all the way to seniors (17).

Crusaders offence stumbles against Rebels

For the second consecutive week, the John Paul II Crusaders looked flat at home.

Really flat.

So flat, in fact, that the Delisle Rebels laid a 48-14 beating on them on Thursday afternoon at Crusaders Field.

North Stars down to 2 goaltenders

The North Stars had a deal in place to send goaltender Ryan Rewerts to the Valley Wildcats of the Maritime Hockey League, but Rewerts has decided not to report to the Berwick, N.S. team, and will stop playing junior A hockey instead.
