AAA Sharks pick up lone point over weekend

It’s happened before to the AAA Sharks and in their home opener it happened again: a final score that doesn’t tell the whole story.

Saturday’s 6-2 loss was simply not indicative of the play in the Sharks game against the Notre Dame Hounds.

AAA Stars sweep weekend games, get back to .500

The AAA Stars may have turned a corner.

After falling 3-1 to the Saskatoon Contacts on Thursday, they went in to Wilcox over the weekend and won back-to-back games for the first time this season, 3-0 and 3-2 over the Notre Dame Argos.

Vikings prevail in all-Battlefords final

It was an epic final that came down to the wire between two cross-town rivals on Saturday afternoon in the junior girls volleyball north conference playoffs.

North Stars hold off Hounds for sixth win in a row

A slow start nearly came back to haunt the North Stars on Saturday night.

After a snooze fest from them and the Notre Dame Hounds in the first period, the North Stars fought through the daze and held on for a 2-1 win over their divisional opponent.

North Stars win fifth straight for first time this year

They peppered over 50 shots on net, scored eight times for the second straight game, and saw production from all four lines.

It truly was a scary night if you were a Yorkton Terrier facing off against the rolling North Stars on Friday night.

AAA Stars drop road contest in Saskatoon

The AAA Stars fell 3-1 to the Saskatoon Contacts last night in Saskatoon.

It was the second loss this season to the Contacts, after falling 8-2 in their season opener.

The tale of the tape was the same as it has been all season: too many penalties and too many shots allowed.

After long wait, AAA Sharks set for home opener

While many teams have played six games already this season – and some teams seven – the AAA Sharks have played just three. They also haven’t had a home game despite the regular season opening over four weeks ago.

Reid’s return to AAA Stars should help ailing power play

The stats don’t lie: The AAA Stars power play is far from extraordinary.

In fact, it’s far from ordinary. It’s bad.

This season, it went four-for 36, which is 11.1 per cent.
