Saskatoon native Kaleb Dahlgren was one of 29 people involved in the horrific Humboldt Broncos bus collision Friday.

Humboldt Broncos bus tragedy hits Battlefords North Stars hard

As the country and world is still reeling from the horrific bus collision involving the SJHL Humboldt Broncos, coaches and players from the Battlefords North Stars are especially feeling the pain as many of them personally know those who were affected by the tragedy.

While the Battlefords North Stars have a do-or-die playoff game tonight at the Civic Centre, one of their alumni will also be playing to keep his season alive.

In perhaps the most utterly ridiculous game of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League season so far, the Battlefords North Stars topped the Estevan Bruins 9-6 to force a game 5 this Thursday, as the win means they now trail 3-1 in the best-of-7 semifinal series.

Only twice in the last 40 years has a team in the National Hockey League come back from a 3-0 series deficit to win.
