Territorial Days kicks off Tuesday evening

The 130th annual Territorial Days are right around the corner with a brand new lineup with something for everybody.

According to Jocelyn Ritchie, General Manager of the Battlefords Agriculture Society, this is the largest event of the year in the Battlefords.

Volleyball players get muddy in Vawn

People in Vawn weren’t afraid to get dirty as the town came together to host a mud volleyball tournament Saturday afternoon.

This is the first time the community has organized the tournament in roughly 17 years after Brandon Doom and Becky Carr decided to bring it back.

Western Development Museum offers a step back in time

The Western Development Museum (WDM) was offering a glimpse into the past over the weekend.

At the annual Those Were the Days event, WDM opened its doors to show off all the museum has to offer, showcasing what life for families on the prairies in the early 1900s was like.

Concert in the Park connects children with storytelling

The North Battleford Public Library gathered children in Central Park Friday afternoon as they hosted their annual Concert in the Park to promote storytelling and literature.

Teachers will spend two nights at Blue Mountain Adventure Park learning a variety of curriculum-based outdoor activities for students.

The U14 Western Canadian Softball Championships have come to a close, and a pair of teams from British Columbia proved to be unstoppable forces throughout the weekend.

The Battleford Bandits finished with a record of 2-4 in the round robin of the Western Canadian Softball Championships, and did not advance to elimination rounds.

Following day three of the U14 Western Canadian Softball Championships, the girls Battleford Bandits have officially been eliminated from the tournament.

The Western Development Museum’s (WDM) These Were the Days event is about to get sweeter this year.

For the first time, WDM will be hosting an apple pie contest at Those Were the Days for contestants to showcase their favourite homemade recipes.
