Manslaughter charge laid in death of 8-month-old baby girl in Saskatoon

A 27-year-old Saskatchewan man faces charges after the death of a baby in January.

Saskatoon police said officers received a 911 call around 8 a.m. on Jan. 29 regarding an unresponsive eight-month-old baby girl at an apartment in the 100 block of Avenue P South.

Cybelle Oscvirk admits celebrating a wedding anniversary at a fast food restaurant isn't the most romantic setting, but for her parents it’s become a tradition since they wed 50 years ago.

"It was actually at that particular A&W that they met," Oscvirk said.

Hostages plead for life in new video released by Philippine terror group

The militant group in the Philippines responsible for the murder of Yorkton's John Ridsdel have released video of three hostages, including Canadian Robert Hall.

Ridsdel, 68, was killed last week, and captors threaten the same fate if an $8-million ransom for each hostage is not paid.
