Town opens waste transfer facility

Battleford residents will now be able to dispose of their garbage without having to cross the river to do it.

The Town of Battleford announced at its last meeting the new Loraas Environmental Services waste transfer station opened to the public on Tuesday.

The family of a Mosquito First Nation man who was the victim of a vicious assault off 14 Avenue in North Battleford early Monday morning are upset after finding out the charges against the two accused were stayed.

Sister of assault victim says culprits 'almost killed him'

The sister of a man who was the victim of a vicious assault early Monday morning in North Battleford said the culprits almost murdered her brother and left him like trash in an alley.

City, BATC launch joint Indigenous employment strategy

The City of North Battleford has joined with Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs (BATC), becoming the first municipal community/First Nations Tribal Chiefs partnership in Canada to develop a joint Indigenous employment strategy.

Husky case could drag on or settle quickly depending on positions, prosecutor says
