Store owner assaulted with hatchet during armed robbery in North Battleford

A business owner was assaulted with a hatchet during an armed robbery in North Battleford Thursday night, RCMP said.

The incident happened at approximately 9:45 p.m. on the 1100-Block of 107th St. in North Battleford. RCMP said a lone male entered the business assaulted the owner before making off with a small quantity of merchandise. The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

The suspect was described as 5’8”, 140 lbs, with a slim build and thick, shoulder-length hair that appeared to have been dyed red at some point.

RCMP said the suspect was wearing a grey hoodie with the word “RAW” written in large letters on the front. He was also wearing a red bandana around his neck, a red ball cap with black rim, black sweatpants, and white Nike running shoes. He was also carrying a small purple backpack.
