Man dies in rollover near Cando Saturday

Battleford’s RCMP report a 34-year-old man died in an SUV rollover near Cando on Saturday. 

Cpl. Clint Kondra said around 6 p.m. on April 21 first responders were called to an accident on a rural grid road off Highway 4, South of North Battleford.

He said the vehicle left the roadway and rolled in the incident. Police, ambulance and the fire department attended the scene. 

One of the passengers in the vehicle died as a result in the single-vehicle collision.

The two other occupants in the vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Kondra said alcohol “may have been a factor,” although the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
