A Mosquito First Nation robbery case will be going to trial in July.

Jamieson Wahobin pleaded not guilty to a charge of robbery with a firearm when he appeared over a video link in a North Battleford provincial courtroom Tuesday. The charge relates to an incident on Mosquito First Nation dating back to Jan. 6.

Judge Bruce Bauer scheduled the trial for two afternoons, July 3 and 24, at North Battleford Provincial Court. A separate trial for the co-accused in the case, Marty Moccasin, was scheduled for May 24.

Crown prosecutor Lu Zhao said 11 witnesses are expected to give evidence at Wahobin’s trial. The allegations against Wahobin and Moccasin have not yet been tested before the courts.
