North West College welcomes new board of governors

Apr 10, 2018 | 12:00 PM

There will be plenty of new faces around the table when the North West College’s board of governors hold their next meeting, as three new members and a new chair were recently appointed by the Government of Saskatchewan.

Former Vice-Chair Byron Merkosky was appointed to replace Ken Hodgson, who stepped down as chair after his extended term of service.

Merkowsky served as mayor of Edam for 13 years and is currently the assistant program manager for the First Nations Students Success Program co-ordinated by the Battlefords Agency Tribal Council (BATC) and Treaty Six Education Council.

“Ken has served the board of governors and North West College with distinction over the past nine years,” Melanie Roberts, interim president and CEO of North West College, said. “I would like to thank him for his service and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
