RCMP report multiple collisions due to Friday’s storm

Mar 23, 2018 | 4:43 PM

Mounties and other emergency personnel dealt with a number of collisions Friday on local highways due to stormy weather conditions.

Road reports indicated icy roadways and reduced visibility.

On Friday afternoon, RCMP Cpl. Brendan Chartier said police received five calls for service as a result of collisions related to the road conditions. There were no injuries reported.

One of those crashes happened around 1 p.m. when an eastbound pick-up truck collided with a light standard near North Battleford, near the underpass at the edge of the city, after losing control due to slippery road conditions.
