Ball breaker campaign gaining momentum

Dec 15, 2017 | 1:00 PM

The excitement is building as the 93.3 The Rock Christmas Ball Breaker campaign enters the home stretch next week and someone is going to win big again this year.

The Ball Breaker campaign kicked off on Monday and over the course of the campaign The Rock will be on location in various businesses around the Battlefords asking residents to bring a donation for Battleford District Food and Resource Centre (BDFC).

“It’s my first year taking part in the Ball Breaker and it’s been amazing to see the generosity of the Battleford area residents,” said Bryan Flannery, morning show host on The Rock. “People are coming in droves to make a donation to the food bank whether its cash or cases of soup… it’s unreal.”

For every cash donation of $10 or case of canned soup donated to the BDFC, contestants will get a chance to win a Can-Am ATV from Norsask Farm Equipment.

“It’s a great prize and of course it’s a great cause as well because the Food Bank can really use our help at this time of year,” Flannery added while on location Friday from Bridges Chevrolet. “More than 450 Christmas hampers are being delivered this year, so you know they need our help.”

At the end of every on-location remote, one lucky individual who made a donation will be chosen to join the Rock at the grand finale on Dec. 22 at Sobey’s.

Last year more than $20,000 in cash was raised for the Battlefords District Food and Resource Centre.
