North Battleford Comprehensive High School was under a hold and secure order Friday afternoon.

Living Sky School Division said in a statement an incident occurred near the high school, but did not specify.

“In accordance with Living Sky School Division’s safety protocol, a Hold and Secure was initiated. This meant that all exterior school doors were locked, and traffic in and out of the school was monitored. The police were contacted,” said Living Sky spokesperson Shannon Lessard. “Classes were not interrupted. There was no direct threat to staff and students.”

The hold and secure started at 1:30 p.m. on Friday and continued until the end of school.
