Nov 24, 2017 | 1:00 PM

The Battlefords AAA Stars surrended 80 shots on goal in two road games this week, but managed to go 1-1.

They won 5-2 on Tuesday against the Saskatoon Contacts before falling 5-2 to the Prince Albert Mintos on Thursday night.

Carter Serhyenko made a whopping 47 saves on 49 shots in Tuesday’s win, improving his record in his inaugural season to 6-3. Adam Beckman led all players with three points, while Damon McKenzie and Trey Stocker each added a pair of points.

Battlefords’ second period on Tuesday is what led them to the win, as they increased their lead from 1-0 to 4-1.

On Thursday, the Mintos scored twice on the man advantage and once on a penalty shot en route to their 12th victory of the season in 16 games.

Both of the Stars goals were scored shorthanded, one from Beckman and one from Ian Hillis. Beckman and Ty Mosimann now co-lead the Stars in scoring with 22 points each.

Joseph Young made 26 saves in goal on Thursday.

The Stars will host the 5-10-0-3 Moose Jaw Generals for a pair of games this weekend.

The first contest is set for Saturday night at 7:30 p.m., while the rematch will be played on Sunday at 2 p.m. Both games will be played at the Civic Centre.
